'Grease' was how I learned that I really liked music and musicals and movies that included music.

I know, for me, 'Grease' was one of the first musicals that I can really remember watching as a kid, and I kind of fell in love that that genre.

To me the thing with 'Grease' was that it was the first movie that as a kid I wanted to get up and do what they were doing.

'Grease' is an awesome movie. I wish they'd make a new one, more for our time. The graphics are terrible when you look back on it.

I grew up with two sisters, and we owned three movies: 'Grease,' 'It's a Wonderful Life,' and 'Grease 2.' And you can only watch 'Wonderful Life' in the last half of the year. So I don't remember a time when I didn't know 'Grease.'

Some of my favorite films are musicals, like 'Walk the Line,' 'The Rose' and 'Lady Sings the Blues.' I just love the way the music and the story fuel each other.

I do like musical films more than big Hollywood films, especially those by Jacques Demi and Vincent Minelli.

To be involved with movies that become kind of cult classics... I've been very fortunate. 'The Warriors' is certainly a cult classic, and 'Xanadu' is, to a certain degree, a cult classic as well.

I'm happy that all my films are different from one another.

Musicals and horror movies are my two favorite genres because they're about extremes.
