I've had particularly unpleasant stuff, and it has been reported that I've had death threats. Twitter and Facebook give people who have always been out there a platform from which to hurl abuse, and all I can do is try to block it out and remind myself that tweets are transient and get lost in the ether after a few moments.

Sometimes I have to deal with trolls, and I just block them. But most of the time, Twitter's heaps of fun, actually.

There's a lot of people blocked on my Twitter for various reasons which I don't need to get into.

There are people I've blocked for a long time who will still respond to every single person that replies positively to me on Twitter. I have quite a few cyber-stalkers like that.

I'm actually on the Twitter like all those crazy young kids are, and if I'm going to do an in-store appearance or I post something on my website, I tweet these followers, a word I don't like so much, and over 50,000 people go, like, 'Okay, I got it.'

I met some fans who said, 'Please start Twittering!' They even walked me through it, but I'm terrible at it. I'm so bad at keeping it up. I forget how to use it. And I'm not very savvy: I try to send a private message, and it goes out to everybody.

I love Twitter. My favorite thing to do these days is to tweet things that seem very questionable as to whether I'm joking or not.

Twitter freaks me out. You have followers? It feels so obsessive and proprietary.

For all the benefits of being in the public eye, there is the odd downside, too. Twitter goes mad sometimes with people saying weird stuff. It is a bit strange, but you can just ignore them. It is not even worth getting worked up about.
