Sometimes people complicate things by thinking too much about what someone might think of what they said or did.

People are human beings. They talk about stuff, they make mistakes, they try to impress each other with their tidbits.

Many of us are inspired and are eager to get things done. But once too many people are involved, life becomes complicated. We are all social beings, so we have an innate urge to incorporate everyone's thoughts.

People usually think according to their inclinations, speak according to their learning and ingrained opinions, but generally act according to custom.

We are all different human beings, and we all have different backgrounds, and we stem from different social strata. That is what defines how you hear people talk, how you want to quote them when you speak. We all have different fears and doubts and complexes and this is what shapes the way we see other people. Especially characters.

Sometimes you find your voice by trying to write like people, and sometimes you find it by trying to write unlike people.

As humans with egos and feelings, none of us wants to be pilloried. But as thinkers and writers, it's our job to express opinions forthrightly and without qualifying them out of existence.
