When someone isn't ready we must not try to force them out. People are being bullied and committing suicide because they're gay and it's horrible.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Many young people, many children, are being abused, being put down, being bullied because of their sexual orientation.
The whole principle of coming out is that everyone knows someone who's gay. The minute someone comes out, no one can be a bigot, because someone they love is gay.
I'm sure other people in the business have considered reasons why they're doing what they're doing, but I do think that if you're gay you have a responsibility to come out.
Gay kids need to stop killing themselves because they are made to feel worthless by cruel and relentless bullying.
I would encourage anybody struggling with their sexuality to go with their heart. If it's not an appropriate time, there will be one later. Never, ever try to rush into anything - do it in your own time.
Gay people - generally speaking - have a responsibility to our own community and to future generations of gay people to come out, if and when we feel that we can.
Coming out to gays is a way of affirming sanity and self-worth.
Many people secretly think that gays are a lot happier than they are, and want to punish them.
It's ridiculous that people aren't allowed to love who they love, have families, and have the same life as straight people. It's infuriating.
I would advise any gay person that being out in the real sense can never happen too soon.
