There's no assigned seats in the House. I spent the first couple months just getting to know my Congress. So I kind of wander around.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Every member of Congress deserves a seat at the table to be involved in the process. I will continue fighting for this to become a reality in Washington, and will be running for speaker of the House.
I'm probably one of the only people who has voted for the speaker of the House but didn't serve in Congress.
At the end of the day, there's not an office complex anywhere on these grounds that I wouldn't be honored to have as a sitting member of Congress.
When you nominate for a seat, the expectation is that you serve that district and serve that seat if you are elected.
I was never supposed to make it to Congress. I was a staff person.
We are scheduled to meet this year fewer days than any Congress since at least 1948. And that is even before I was born. So far, we are in the 123rd day of this year, and yet we have only had 26 voting days in this body. That is a shame.
I never thought I would run for Congress. If you look back at a certain reality TV show, you know that.
I operate on the assumption that as a member of Congress, presently, I represent everybody - Republicans, Democrats, independents and, yes, some people who don't care to participate.
Every member in Congress has a seat, and they deserve a seat at the table.
My position has always been that the House of Representatives does not take reservations. It's walk-in only.
