Higher taxes is the road to ruin. We must and we will shrink our government, and that means making some tough choices, tightening our belts.

Now make no mistake, I think we need a strong dose of fiscal conservatism in Washington, D.C.

We still have a major problem in debt with America that we have to find efficiencies in government to get us back to a balanced budget.

We are the ones that are trying to get Washington spending under control so it can live within its means.

The American people want a balanced budget. They want Congress to stop this barbaric practice of perpetual deficit spending. It really, if you think about it, is a form of taxation without representation. We fought a war over that issue and we won that war.

We must reign in overspending by ridding government of outmoded programs, making Big Oil pay their fair share, repealing massive tax breaks for corporations that ship jobs overseas, and enacting a tax code that no longer favors millionaires and billionaires.

I'm against high taxes. But we certainly cannot be so anorexic in government that we cannot function.

We sincerely believed that we don't tax too little in Washington. We spend too much.

Enough is enough. Enough of the waste. Enough of the spending. Enough of the debt. Enough of the arrogance in Washington, D.C.

I don't believe we need any more taxes. We need to curtail the size of government. That seems to be a common thread among a majority of Americans out there that understand that we have to limit the size and scope of our government.
