Teachers need to feel they are trusted. They must be allowed some leeway to use their imagination; otherwise, teaching loses all sense of wonder and excitement.

To me, the avocation of a teacher has something elevating and exciting. While surrounded by the young, one may always be doing good.

I've always admired teachers for their patience and purpose in choosing their profession.

The most important thing I think teachers can do for young people is to make them inquiring, is to ensure that they know how to gather information, that they check information and they take their information from a multiplicity of sources.
