It seems like Weezer has gotten better and better at getting attention for everything besides our music. Part of that is just the nature of our culture now - you really have to scream to get some attention, so people even know you have a record out that they might want to listen to.

I've done a few things on the side here and there, but there is not much reason to do so in a sustained way. I'm generally able to say what I want to say within the context of Weezer.

We're just enthusiastic about what we do.

There are a lot of weenie American actors, and a lot of foreign actors are having the luck.

I'm not somebody with over-weening ambition.

I don't have any particular excitement about working with any specific director or actor at this point.

I like to take things one step at a time, because the entertainment industry is very uncertain.

But so long as we can keep this crew of fantastic people together and can continue to make real breakthrough films in this category, as well as characters that stay true to what we've done in this first film, I'd be more than happy to be a part of it.

We definitely need to get the excitement back.
