I have a problem with blogs - all the best writers benefit from edits.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
If people want to be better writers, they can't just read the blogs! You've got to look at something that's outside this rushing world of evanescent words.
Blogs are for anoraks who couldn't get published any other way.
I'm not a writer, but I'm very good at editing. That's my specialty. I can read something and tell you everything that's wrong with it and what's great about it and what needs to change, but it's hard for me to organize my thoughts.
I've written under the radar for quite some time, and I always looked at editing as writing.
I actually never liked writing on my own or in school until I'd had my blog for a while and realized I'd been writing every day for years.
I'm not sure blogs are necessarily the best place to get a pulse on anything. People want to blog for a variety of reasons, and that may or may not be representative.
What's great is that starting a blog can get you lot of attention for your writing. But it doesn't have to be for anybody other than yourself.
Writing is just very difficult. I'm an adequate performer. And I think I have a special talent as an editor. Editing is what I do best.
We all need to focus on our writing. Because the millions of readers out there don't care about your blog.
I think a lot of journal articles should really be blogs.
