People are fed up with the career politicians who created this mess or failed to prevent it and neither was acceptable, and the only way we could change that was by sending a different type of person to Washington.

My biggest concern is that America is drifting towards mediocrity and that people don't recognize - and by people I'm meaning Washington - don't recognize the sense of urgency and the fact that I don't think this is a crisis anymore. I think it's an emergency.

Washington is paralyzed by extreme political rhetoric that creates powerful sound bites but poor policy.

Washington has been ignoring this issue for too long.

Unlike in Washington, Virginia's leaders don't run from serious problems. We tackle them.

Those who devote their lives to serving our country, children, and neighborhoods are giving back. They have answered the call to serve.
