You're in a much better position to talk with people when they approach you than when you approach them.

People may have found it difficult to approach me, and I realised it and have worked on it. I used to be socially shy. Now I have become a social animal. I go out, meet and interact with people.

Occasionally people will look at me and do a double take and they'll look at me like they're trying to think where they know me from.

I always try to make myself be very approachable and easy to talk to, so hopefully people will feel that they can approach me.

Approaching people for work has not worked for me. People who came to me with work has worked.

Usually when people see me, they see me as more of the soft-spoken one rather than being the witty, smart-tongued character.

There are quite enough sheep already - be a shepherd: be somebody who's bold and who leads.
