President Obama wants to increase the size of government and raise taxes, while I support less government and more individual freedom.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Instead of focusing on growing jobs and reigniting our economy, President Obama focused on growing government and tried to remake the United States into the image of the debt-laden countries of Europe. His approach has been more spending, more regulation, and higher taxes.
During the campaign for re-election, Barack Obama at least made vague references to a willingness to accept $3 trillion of reduced spending in exchange for a $1 trillion dollar tax increase.
Obama's plan for higher taxes and more spending is a blueprint for perpetual poverty. The last thing America needs is more of the Democrats' class warfare that has left our economy a barren landscape.
So, President Obama wants to change America. I understand that. We don't need to change America. We need to change the White House. We need to change the leadership in the White House.
Obama is trying to paint us as a caricature, as if we're some bizarre individualists who are hardcore libertarians. It's a false dichotomy and intellectually lazy. Of course we believe in government. We think government should do what it does really well, but that it has limits.
Obama believes in a big central government, where the federal government controls everything in our lives. That's socialism.
You know, President Obama feels very strongly that the government has a responsibility to engage with the American people, as well as with the world community.
Obama is a statist. He's an authoritarian. He doesn't want to govern; he wants to rule.
We can support President Barack Obama, because he supports us. We can support Barack Obama, because he shares our values and our vision.
The fundamental problem is that President Obama has grown government. He has grown the private sector jobs.
