Apparently there are some Democratic leaders in the Senate that are running for office who now believe in tax cuts.

In Washington, I will never vote to raise taxes, I will fight to repeal healthcare reform, and I will work to balance the budget.

People are not really interested in what politicians talk about, but what they are really interested in is how their hard-earned tax money is spent.

Sadly, far too many politicians in Washington lack the courage to do something to fix our problems. They are worried about the political implications of making the hard choices we so desperately need to cut spending and shrink government.

Any politician that says no tax revenue or zero spending cuts does not deserve reelection. Our hole is so deep in this country with the debt and the debt service, the interest on that debt, before the big expenses come for Social Security and Medicare - for we baby boomers in a few years - that everything has to be on the table.

Whoever is for higher taxes, feel free to pay higher taxes.

People who are disenfranchised politically and people who are poor often don't vote. They often don't elect politicians, so the politicians who are supporting them are really being very charitable, because they're not going to give them billions of dollars in campaign funds.

I guess it feels to me that the political argument that has been lost in my lifetime is taxation. How do you engage in that debate when people don't trust politicians at all? It is almost impossible to start a conversation about taxation.
