There's just something so special about 'God Made Girls.' It comes from a girl's perspective, and there's nothing like that on radio right now, and so I think that's what made us able to pick that song as a single.

I'm probably tougher on myself than I used to be. I'll revise my lyrics more. Part of that is working with the right people and producers who will say, 'How can you make that better?' Allowing yourself to collaborate with people will push you toward transcendence.

People weren't even aware that I wrote my own songs. The media just promoted me as a female body. It's like I've had to prove that I'm an artist.

The coolest part about 'God Made Girls' is you had all these different women writing it, so you had all these different perspectives in this song.

I've had fans and friends in the business say, 'Oh man, you've made it.' I still don't feel like I've made it. I still feel like I'm as good as my last show, as good as my last single.

I just don't think I'm a very good singer.
