I don't know what my appeal is. I can see I've got blue eyes and don't look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame but I can't understand the fuss.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Notre Dame was my dream school growing up. But in recruiting, they had some other plans, what position they wanted me to play.
You don't go to Notre Dame to learn something; you go to Notre Dame to be somebody.
God has a plan for everybody's life, so there was obviously a reason why He wanted me to go to Notre Dame. Everything happens for a reason.
I don't appeal to everyone well. I appeal to fewer people in a much stronger way. That's what fandom is to me, and what creates fans for everything I make.
Looks aren't a big thing to me. I keep reading these articles in fan magazines about me, and I don't even know who they're talking about. It's boring.
There is a certain androgyny to my appeal.
It's a big compliment that so many people want to see me. For them, it's all about football. That's what they remember about me.
Physical attributes can make you appealing, but to keep the appeal going, one has to draw from within. You have to be a real person. Your fans and the people you associate with have to be able to see beyond your looks. You have to be a good friend, dutiful son and a good family man.
I truly believe the things Notre Dame stands for.
There is nothin' like a dame.
