Is the cinema more important than life?

I always viewed life as material for a movie.

Life isn't what it's like in the movies.

Life is the movie you see through your own eyes. It makes little difference what's happening out there. It's how you take it that counts.

What interests me about life most is people, and the why of the world. That's what theatre looks at: it examines life, and gives it a cohesiveness that life doesn't have.

I was raised in a family where cinema was a way of life. It was not only about making films, it was relationship, passion, love, everything at the same time.

In the moment of making films, I want to share my observations of life, not of other films.

Films are fun, but life is much richer.
