I'm not over the top; I'm not wacky. I'm fairly understated, and that reflects in the way I sing.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
Even at my peak, I never went too over the top.
I don't over-sing anymore, which I used to suffer from terribly because I couldn't hear myself.
Whatever else has been said about me personally is unimportant. When I sing, I believe. I'm honest.
I don't think I am even the best I can be. I like to listen to other singers and learn from them, but I'm always working on myself, trying to improve, trying to be very tough with myself.
It's interesting, because as a musician, I don't feel like I need to be on the top of the pop charts.
You know, I've always said, I've never felt I was a particularly good singer, but I've always thought I had a great knack for picking hit songs.
I just don't think I'm a very good singer.
Obviously I'm not the best singer; obviously I'm not the best piano player or the best songwriter, but I'm doing my best on all of 'em. Once you have all those things in place, then I think everything falls the way it should.
If you think I'm over-the-top, I am.
When I'm on stage, I'm quite over the top - I'm quite flamboyant and camp.
