Live stage is being made as you go along. You feel the energy. There's nothing like a live audience.

When you are on stage, you don't see faces. The lights are in your eyes and you see just this black void out in front of you. And yet you know there is life out there, and you have to get your message across.

The great thing about stage is that you have a live audience.

When I'm on stage, it's like a different world ... me connecting with the audience. It's a surreal experience.

A life being enacted onstage is a thing of utter fascination for me. And acting, it may begin out of vanity, but you hope that it's taken over by something else. I hope I've climbed over the vanity hurdle.

There's real drama in performing live. You never know how it's going to be.

Being on stage makes me come to life. When all eyes are on you, they're watching every move you make.

Performing live on stage is such a community, whether it's my musicians or a cast of a show that I'm in. And then when you're in the studio or on set, it's a much more solitary experience. Both can serve me at different times in my life. And when I go back and forth from one to the other, it helps me appreciate all of them much better.
