Don't give up, be positive and if you know someone who knows someone at a record company don't stop beating down their door till you get heard. Don't ever say it'll never happen or it'll never happen.

Most of the time I don't force records. I'm not one of these guys that put records out every nine, 10 months. I'm pretty long between records. I've only had a few in my career. I kind of wait until I feel I have really strong songs. I don't know if they're going to change the world or not, but I dig 'em, and if I dig 'em we make a record.

Sometimes when you make a record and it's not successful, you just don't want to go through that process for a while. You want to have your wounds heal.

I still hold on to the idea that a record can really change the way I feel.

When you make a record, you listen to it literally hundreds of times. When it's done and you can't do anything else, I never listen to my records.
