My art is a form of restoration in terms of my feelings to myself and to others.

I believe that art has been a vehicle for me that's been about enlightenment and expanding my own parameters, to give me courage to exercise the freedom that I have in life.

I am here on Earth to express myself, and the many media of art are my magic carpets that allow me the freedom to do so.

But only if I believe that my directing talents will improve the material I'd be working on. I want to make sure I don't sacrifice beautiful material on the altar of my direction.

I pledge allegiance to the living, and I will defend art from history. I will rescue art from the future, from its attrition into taste, and from the speculative notion that it will become more valuable with time.

There are forms of art that I might not like to do myself, but I still have respect for the artists who create it.

I have a healthy view of what one can do with art.
