I'm not going to go to the local theater to spend $12... when I can get a screening copy of a film. I don't get screeners myself, but I can borrow from my friends or go to their house to watch.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I don't go to the cinema much.
If I had the opportunity to buy the latest movie that's out that month and watch it on the comfort of my big screen TV, I would pay for that.
Well that's the point: People don't normally take away things from films anymore. You go and see a $100 million film, half an hour later, your biggest concern is what are you going to be eating.
There are a few directors around who I have some excitement about spending my $7 at the theatre watching their movies.
I just don't want to do a movie because it paid me a lot of money.
I don't know what is in store for the movie business any better than anybody else does, but it does seem like my kind of movies are a little trickier than it used to be - or maybe a lot trickier.
Theater is not to make a living, so I don't have the money pressure.
I'll never do a film because it's a massive budget and I'm gonna get lots of publicity for it and it will bring something else.
When I get the chance, I'm at the theaters all the time, trying to check out the latest movies.
When you do a film, you get picked up in a car, lunch is free. Theatre is really hard, and you get absolutely no money.
