Every now and then I read a poem that does touch something in me, but I never turn to poetry for solace or pleasure in the way that I throw myself into prose.

Writing is not necessarily something to be ashamed of, but do it in private and wash your hands afterwards.

The urge to write poetry is like having an itch. When the itch becomes annoying enough, you scratch it.

I don't write poems. I don't give flowers to girls... yet.
