You see a lot of us lingering around. We'll just stand there on the edge of the pool and kinda psych ourselves up into getting in.

As long as there's a body of water nearby, I'm happy. Pools don't count. I like diving into the ocean and coming out refreshed.

These days, right now, these are the good old days. I've always approached it that way. That's why I'm still working. I'm not the guy who is ready to sit by the pool.

The pool is terrible, but that doesn't have much to do with my record swims. That's all mental attitude.

I would DJ pool parties in Minneapolis, but I never swam there!

I don't need a pool room with medals and everything hanging up.

Our pool is outdoors, but it's heated, and I've got one of those machines that produces waves you have to swim against; like a jogging treadmill, really, only it's in water. Basically, it means you can have a small pool, swim for miles, and get nowhere.

Why is it such a big deal what I'm swimming?
