Hunger in America is an American problem. The hunger of one should be the concern of all. Especially the hunger of children - our children.

When people can't feed their children, nothing else positive happens. You don't have to look farther than the United States to see that.

Poverty is a very complicated issue, but feeding a child isn't.

Hunger is a political issue, and there are several things politically that are keeping people hungry - not funding food stamps adequately, not funding school lunches adequately. So there is a political solution to the problem of hunger.

We talk about, you know, diet and that we shouldn't give our kids big things and obesity and fast food. Well, you know there are people who don't have that problem because they're not getting any food! We have so many deep problems and issues facing humanity.

Ultimately this issue is on us. We're the ones who make the decisions about what our kids eat.

Hunger and malnutrition have devastating consequences for children and have been linked to low birth weight and birth defects, obesity, mental and physical health problems, and poorer educational outcomes.

There are so many issues in society - we talk about the violence, the drugs, the unwanted pregnancies - but at the end of the day, it comes down to what we taught our children to be.

One in four kids in the U.S. faces hunger.

The human overpopulation issue is the topic I see as the most vital to solve if our children and grandchildren are to have a good quality of life.
