With songwriting I spend a lot of time living life, accruing all these experiences, journaling, and then by the time I get to the studio I'm teeming with the drive to write.

As far as songwriting, my inspirations came from love, life and death, and viewing other people's situations.

I like writing songs - I keep saying that one day I'll do something with them, but I haven't yet.

I'm still learning a lot as a songwriter. I try to write down and make a note of ideas that I cross paths with on a day-to-day basis, whether it be a conversation or something I hear on the radio, seeing a movie, or just thoughts in my head as I'm walking down the street.

I'm a songwriter; that's where it starts. I love writing with someone that shares that same feeling of accomplishment. I'll play music for my fans as long as they'll listen, but I fancy myself as a writer first.

All I try to do is to write music that feels meaningful to me, that has commitment and passion behind it.

I love songwriting. It's second to my love for singing in how I express myself.

I write when I have to; I write when the song is done and I deal with the idea and I just go with it and I'll become what that song is all about until I have finished it. And when you do that, it makes the song more visual, it makes it more personal.

I enjoy recording and performing, but it's the songwriting that I love most.
