There are people I've met in L.A. who kind of only talk about the business. Because maybe they think that's the best move.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
L.A. is an intense industry town, and there's a side of it that's superficial, but I surround myself with the kind of people who don't let me get sucked into that.
I kept saying that I'd never live in L.A., and I didn't think I would. But that's where the work is, and I ended up making a lot of friends there, and my old friends moved out to Los Angeles too. And also, I think when you're famous, its hard to live in a small town.
I think, especially living in L.A., it's very easy to get wrapped up in weekend announcements and the trades and the whole social life of the city, and to get divorced from what actually matters.
When I first got to L.A., I was shocked at how business was done, and how people... it's like everything I was told not to fall for, I was surrounded by. And it was very difficult for me, because I just didn't like the industry at all.
L.A. can be very superficial, and it's hard to meet cool people here. I try to stay away from the glitzy side of the business and have a normal life as much as possible. I keep to myself.
I think a lot of people just assumed I came to L.A. to do more television and get into show business.
I like L.A., but it's just too many people in the same business everywhere you go. You lose perspective.
I would never want to live in L.A., and I made that decision years ago, so I never chose that path for myself, although I have much respect for those that do it at a high level.
Does anybody actually go out in L.A.? When I lived there, I'd just stay in my apartment.
The business is all about gush and hype. You never have a bad meeting in L.A.
