When people ask me if I am a feminist film maker, I reply I am a woman and I also make films.

As feminism becomes more integrated into mainstream publications and conversation, I feel weary of an obsession of celebrity culture masquerading as activism or as conversation or action. It's clickbait.

Some feminists have this party-line attitude, and they can be very extremist. The most enlightened characters in my film are women.
