Pride is a sin that can readily be seen in others but is rarely admitted in ourselves.

Pride is not the worst of sins. In fact, it's one of the most interesting ones.

Most of us think of pride as self-centeredness, conceit, boastfulness, arrogance, or haughtiness. All of these are elements of the sin, but the heart, or core, is still missing. The central feature of pride is enmity - enmity toward God and enmity toward our fellowmen.

Pride is one of the socially acceptable sins in some corners of the evangelical culture. It's just straight-out ego gratification - how important I am; whether my name gets on the building or on the TV program or in the magazine article.

The first and most fundamental issue of sin is pride.

Prosperity often leads to pride, which leads to sin.
