There's a power in what we hold as artists, and part of that comes with responsibility... to share the human experience and really allow that to be seen.

Some artists shrink from self-awareness, fearing that it will destroy their unique gifts and even their desire to create. The truth of the matter is quite opposite.

I suppose an artist takes the elements of his life and rearranges them and then has them perceived by others as though they were the elements of their lives.

I don't think an artist should always know why they gravitate toward something or someone. You are just drawn to things, and that's OK.

An artist has to go to every extreme, to stretch his sensibility through excess and suffering in order to feel and to communicate more.

Many artists use their own lives as a kind of case study to examine what it's like to be human.
