Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood.

I used to be homophobic, but as I got older, I realized that wasn't the way to do things. I don't discriminate against anybody for their sexual preference, for their skin color... that's immature.

I am not homophobic - in no way, shape or form.

I'm fine with gays. I have nothing against gays.

I'm not against gay people.

Homophobia is just that: a phobia.
