I tape every game I can get my hands on. Every game that's on TV, I tape it. My daughter, Terry Hill, lives in Eureka, and she has a satellite dish, so she tapes what I can't get. I try to keep up with what everybody is doing, so if the phone rings, I'll be ready.

When I started analysing games in 2001, I had a DVD recorder. I'd be at home watching the games just on a normal TV, watching what I could and trying to figure out what we would be facing a few weeks later. The problem was, in the team meetings, I'd always have to keep going back and forwards with the footage, trying to get to the right part.

When we're not on the practice field, I'm watching tape, and when I'm not watching tape, I'm doing body work or something like that.

I think my main objective is to watch as many players as I can and grab a little bit from each of them, especially the things they do well.

I enjoy playing the game. It's hard for me to just watch it, even while broadcasting.

I just think in order for someone to understand my game, they have to watch me more than once, because I'm not going to do anything that's extra flashy or freakishly athletic.

I watch a lot of ESPN. I just kind of keep it on for long periods of time and watch guys yell at each other about sports things.

It's a question of keeping one's eyes and ears open and watching how other people play the game. They're watching me too, to see what my attitude is like.
