When I met Paul Ryan 22 years ago, he was a student at Miami of Ohio volunteering on my campaign.

They played Boston. They played at the Boston Tea Party and through an amazing chain of events I got to hang out with them backstage even though I was underage.

When we lived in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, my sister and I did a local play. My whole family got involved. My mom did the makeup. My sister and I were being homeschooled, and my parents wanted us to be socialized. We had a lot of fun with the other kids hanging out backstage.

I'm the lead singer of the Beach Boys and an ambassador of this amazing music that touched a generation.

In my teen years, I was hanging out with adults - Steven Meisel, Francois Nars, Oribe, Paul Cavaco. We had so much fun! We'd go out in New York.

I did like hanging out with all the rock'n'roll boys - it was fun but all those relationships didn't work out.
