One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.

If you can speak what you will never hear, if you can write what you will never read, you have done rare things.

We keep secrets from people that we love because we're afraid of our own truth. I think sometimes we're afraid to hurt people, because you never know. I think we're afraid of what is, and what can't be.

I try to be as honest about what I see and to speak rather than be silent, especially if it means I can save lives, or serve humanity.

You know, I have found out in the course of a long public life that the things I did not say never hurt me.

Beware, all too often we say what we hear others say. We think what we are told that we think. We see what we are permitted to see. Worse, we see what we are told that we see.

Words, words, mere words, no matter from the heart.

I feel like my honesty gives people the freedom to talk about things they wouldn't otherwise.

Here's a nation, one of the founding pillars was freedom of speech and freedom of expression. And yet, we have imposed upon people restrictions on what they can say, on what they can think. And the media is the largest proponent of this, crucifying people who say things really quite innocently.
