Maybe the one I enjoyed playing most was A Month in the Country.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
If you play the same club every week of every month, it's kind of boring. It's great that you can play one night in Brazil and one night in Japan, one night in Europe, and see the world. It's amazing what you see if you travel around the world.
I've enjoyed every minute of travelling and playing for my country. What an honour that is.
I might have played a little bit more in Europe than I have in Japan.
The thing I always liked best about touring abroad was constantly running into different people, different cultures, different foods. It really pumped up my batteries... I'm constantly playing to a demographically diverse audience... one generation is driven by nostalgia, the next by curiosity. And that's why I have no plans to retire.
Why did I spend all these years playing boring Europeans? I was made for action movies.
Playing for England was one long roller-coaster: some ups and downs, but also quite a few moments when you're not really sure if you're enjoying the ride.
I absolutely would not have liked playing in Spain or somewhere like that, so I was just gonna do it a year. Then I was gonna be done.
We played the same thing in Europe we played in the States.
I've played so many different parts in the last 40 years.
I would say, in a year, I spend maybe half of that playing FIFA. I love it that much.
