I've finally learned to love my voice for its uniqueness.

My voice is very distinct. People hear Tracy Morgan's voice, and they know Tracy Morgan right off the bat because I've been in their homes for so many years.

It's an interesting and demanding art to do voices. I have been told so many times that I have a distinctive voice, but of course, I don't hear my own voice as others do, so I don't know.

I started to like my voice - the sound of it. So then I started to listen to it as something separate. To me, it sounded good that way as well.

My voice is a combination of how I grew up and what I was listening to growing up. I like a lot of different kinds of music and am always being inspired in different ways by different artists for different reasons.

And I think I have a distinct voice.

Apart from a period of crisis during my adolescence, when my voice was changing and I could not tame it - it was like a kicking foal that does not listen to reason - I have always been told I have a pleasant and recognizable voice.

I always enjoy rhythms and melodies, but I always use my voice as more of an instrument and less of a soapbox for me to say or to preach.

I get a lot of recognition for my voice. That always surprises me.
