The American dream seems to be thriving in Europe not at home.

The great European dream was to diminish militant nationalism. We would all be happy Europeans together. But we are going to see the old monster of militant nationalism being awoken when people realise how little control their politicians have.

European countries simply do not have the ideological framework the United States has in the shape of the 'American dream' that has helped to absorb successfully wave after wave of immigration to the States, including Muslim Americans who are well integrated into American society. There is no analogous French dream or German dream.

What we have to do is reinvent the idea of Europe.

My vision is that our country should be integrated in the EU, to transfer a part of our independence there. It is also our duty to do it, if we want to establish trade and a sound economy. This is the vision that I am working on and I will continue to work in the future.

We would like to preserve Europe for Europeans.

What we need is a common goal for more Europe.

That is now my mission: to provide a European vision of growth, employment, prosperity - in one word, our future.

I am a committed European; a united Europe is Romania's future.
