I do have two wonderful awards from the Western Writers of America, one for 'Beardance' and the other for 'Far North.' The award is called the Spur, and the plaques really do have spurs on them!
Sentiment: POSITIVE
Except that awards are competitive, which is a negative thing, they are wonderful for singling out deserving individuals and bringing their work to the attention of many potential readers who might otherwise have been totally unaware of them.
I think these awards are always nice for a player but they also reflect well on the club. It shows that Arsenal's performance have been noted all around the world and it helps by having so many good players around me.
I'm always being introduced as 'Tony Award-winning Douglas Hodge.' It's extraordinary.
I didn't get a lot of awards as a player. But they did have a Bob Uecker Day Off for me once in Philly.
The first award I ever won was for Best New Artist from the ACMs, so they always will hold a special place in my heart.
I am honored to receive the James Beard award and so incredibly proud of my entire team at Eleven Madison Park.
The Spurs are a great organization.
I love awards, especially if I get them.
Awards are great, as you get to meet up with friends and colleagues from your industry - a sort of reunion.
I always had good recognition from the Southern writers, but the publishers never took any notice of that.
