With true free speech has to come an understanding of when and when not to use it. But you can't legislate that. It must be voluntary - especially in a world where a whisper can reach a million people in an eye blink.

Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.

We love a growing private sector that allows people freedom of choice, to choose their health plan, to choose their doctor, to choose their hospital.

Free speech is the cornerstone to every right we have.

We're right to say that a culture that can't tolerate free speech is... there are a wide range of positive human experiences that are not available in that culture. And we're right to want those experiences.

The right of free speech cannot be parceled out based on whether we want to hear what the speaker has to say or whether we agree with those views. It means, quite often, tolerating the expression of views that we find distasteful, perhaps even repugnant.

In all modesty, we must admit that governments are not always the best doctors when it comes to diagnosing economic ailments and prescribing the right treatment.

There should be choice in healthcare.
