The biggest similarity between me and my character is that we've both played clubs for 20 years. In real life, the clubs aren't quite as controlled - and my hair isn't quite as in place as it is on 'Ally McBeal.'
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I would like to think that I'm more different from my character than I am.
I don't think there is a fictional character who resembles me because fictional characters are not real!
Sometimes it's hard to play someone so similar to you, because you can muddy the character. Often, it's easier to play someone further away from you, because it's clearer who they are.
I don't know if I've ever played a character who's close to me. There have been some elements of myself in different roles. Sometimes, I show one side of myself and then completely conceal the other.
I had a really tragic cut at the beginning of Season 2 of 'Ally McBeal.' Someone convinced me that it would be good to layer my hair. I basically looked like Ronald McDonald.
We don't all look alike - some people think they're tough, some people think they're fragile - but in the end, we share a lot.
Since I played a warrior in 'Magadheera,' my character sported shoulder-length hair and a thick beard.
Maybe people don't see me as believable playing a person of today. I guess I'm just more realistic in a corset and funny hairstyles.
I've tried very hard and I've never found any resemblance between the people I know and the people in my novels.
I don't think I'm like any of the characters I've played - they're all really far from who I am.
