We all have stories we're living and telling ourselves.

There's so many things that we could do.

You have only so many chances to tell stories. I didn't want to be forever wedded to one form of storytelling when there are so many out there.

Don't forget - no one else sees the world the way you do, so no one else can tell the stories that you have to tell.

And it's a human need to be told stories. The more we're governed by idiots and have no control over our destinies, the more we need to tell stories to each other about who we are, why we are, where we come from, and what might be possible.

I do live with the very real possibility that we don't have endless stories to tell.

You can take any one of our stories that we use right now, put western clothes on us, stick us out in the west and they'll work just as well - any single one of them - because they're stories about people, they're stories about things.

Since becoming aware of the need to be inclusive, I've tried to make my stories broader and more representative of our world.
