Art is I; science is we.

Science is the greatest creative impulse of our time. It dominates the intellectual scene and forms our lives, not only in the material things which it has given us, but also in that it guides our spirit.

We take art, and I love all that. But I also like science for some reason. I just like finding out why things happen.

Art is elemental. Reason alone as it's expressed in the sciences can't be man's complete answer to reality, and it can't express everything that man can, wants to, and has to express. I think God built this into man. Art along with science is the highest gift God has given him.

I think it enriches you as a scientist to be able to see things in an artistic perspective and as an artist to see things in a scientific perspective.

I would like people to appreciate science in the same way they appreciate the arts.

Art and science are intrinsically the same except for one thing. The universe is in control of your science, whether it's right or wrong, and the public are in control of your art - if they're going to buy it, if you're going to make a living that way.

All of science to me, everything that we have learned, is important to the extent that it brings us to our senses.

I would say the connection between art and science is very tenuous for me. It's just that I'm interested in both. I don't think that my interest in art affects the kind of science that I do.
