I love U.K. festivals because people go to watch as many bands as possible. They aren't just there to see their favourites; they'll be there all day long.

I first visited the Toronto fest in 1979, its fourth edition, when it was known as the Festival of Festivals and had an audience of about 40,000. I happily returned to the 10-day skein nearly every year thereafter, as attendance swelled to 400,000 and it grew into the most influential film festival in North America, perhaps the world.

The really cool thing about festivals is that you're getting to play in front of a whole lot of people who have never heard of us before. That's exciting. At the same time, it's a little bit of a challenge to capture the attention of people who have already seen a lot of bands.

I didn't realize how many true Rockabilly fans there were here in America.

Contemporary bands often will do tour-only releases pressed and sold only in Australia. Crikey!

I want to play more festivals.

Festivals are great because you get to just walk around the corner and see a new band that you've heard but not had the chance to check out.

Unlike with any other art form, filmmakers have this unique web of festivals. There are hundreds. It is a democratic system in which you submit films, and if they are good enough, they play. The only barrier to entry is the submission fee.

I think the only festival I ever went to was Warped Tour.
