People are very upset with Washington. They're upset with Democrats. They're upset with Republicans. They're upset with the establishment.

What strikes me when I leave Washington is the extent to which there's a huge disconnect between Washington and the rest of the country. The rest of the country is not hyper partisan.

Washington is a bubble, and there is nothing more powerful than the conservative grassroots when we are engaged and letting our voice be heard.

The reason that last-ditch political maneuvering has become business as usual in Washington is that the actors involved are drunk on blame and are convinced that the voting public is, too. They count on outrage, thereby spreading numbness. They cherish the prospect of partisan fury, thereby inspiring nonpartisan disgust.

I think that people on both sides of the aisle are rejecting what's going on with Washington and the establishment.

The Republicans I know or the conservatives I know, they disagree with what the Republicans are doing in Washington because we are compromising too much.

I guess blustery liberal Republicans flock together.

What Republicans have done in my view is that they are systematically dismantling a sense of community in America.
