I'm not here to change the music world, but I'm definitely here to show what I can do and express myself through my music.

I think I'm making music that's pretty universal.

I'm just trying to make my favorite music. That's how I work; I just do things based on the way they feel to me. I want to be touched by the music I'm making. Luckily, other people have shared that response to my work over the years.

What's great about music is it takes so many kinds of people, including me. Everybody is in a different place.

I love what I do. I was given the most incredible gift that can be given to anyone. I could never imagine a world without music, and I feel grateful that I've been given the ability to share that.

Whatever I do with music, I try to make it align deeply with the values and principles of who I am and what I believe the purpose of my life is.

My whole thing is just to put out positive messages in the music, give people something that can change their lives.

My main thing is music; it's what I do.

I never really thought about my music being universal. When I set out to write, it was just a feeling that felt good to me. I never thought about being able to reach everybody.

Because I express myself through the music, I want to be responsible in that expression and how it carries on well after I'm here. But that's just me.
