It's the same as any role and I find that you can't lump characters together; because they all have different life experiences, different reasons for being the way they are.

To me, any character that is conflicted inside as well as outside of themselves is always a better role to play.
Creating a role is an interesting thing - each show or each situation is different.
We are all multidimensional and kind of have dual personalities. Everyone puts on different roles depending on what circumstances they're in without even noticing that they do that.
When I have to play the same role every day, I have the flexibility to play the character in so many different ways. It's almost like playing five different roles.
Never jeopardize who you are for a role. Now, I'm not saying you should never change for a role, because the fun of being different characters is adapting different nuances and different parts of the character, but never jeopardize your moral compass or anything like that to have a role.
That's what acting is about - for me, at least - tackling different personas and characters.
I've been fortunate to play many different types of characters thus far. However, I really enjoy playing roles that are different than who I am personally. You can have these small fantasy worlds where you can be people you would otherwise never get to be: a doctor, a lawyer, a ruthless business woman.
I guess each of my roles on the network have been so different. It's great to be entrusted with such interesting, unique, and completely separate characters.
In reality, for me every role is completely different.
Character roles only indicate that they're very different from who you are as a person, and for me, it's fun hiding behind characters that are so unlike who I am.
