People need to realize bullying has just as much of an impact online because words are so cutting and difficult to deal with.

There's a reason why bullying takes such a strong form online. People don't have to push back as much as they would in real life.

When I was in high school, I got bullied through social media - on the Internet, on my Facebook. That was hard for me, and I think social media has made it easy for people to bully other people on-line because they can just post anything they want anonymously.
With bullying and all the stuff going on, words are very important. Words can be more hurtful than anything physically. I got little kids, and it's common sense when you're raising them that the main thing is how you talk to people, and how you treat people. Sometimes I think the world forgets that as we get older.
The whole bullying issue has really struck a nerve with me. It affects so many different types of people at a vital time in their lives.
Firing insults anonymously behind the keys of a message board, slandering other people's beliefs or opinions, this happens on a daily basis in my comment section or on my feed. Cyber-bullying and, further, online social ignorance, is a very real problem, typically without any real consequence.
I don't know that there's more bullying or whether it's just more talked about. It seems to me that possibly that there's been a lot of bullying all the time, but at the moment, it's something that people are talking about.
Bullying is a national epidemic.
Unless and until our society recognizes cyber bullying for what it is, the suffering of thousands of silent victims will continue.
I don't appreciate Internet cyber bullying at all. It's not fair. With me, it gets hard because I have four children. My 8 year old son reads lies about his father, when I'm his hero.
