The way I personally work is I like to write what I know, what I feel, and also where I am.

I write about true-life type things.

I write to explore something that fascinates me, and I write the way I do because it is the only way I know how to write.

I like to write when I feel I'm the real me.

I've carved out a career for myself really as a writer.

I write about stuff that happens to me, so I try to live as interesting a life as possible.

I always write to understand my place in the world. I can see myself and my life unfold on the page, and I can understand my strengths, my weaknesses - I can see where I need to step up a bit.

But, if there's any aspect of my career that needs attention, it's writing.

I just love writing. It's magical, it's somewhere else to go, it's somewhere much more dreadful, somewhere much more exciting. Somewhere I feel I belong, possibly more than in the so-called real world.

Sometimes I write about my own life. And sometimes I write about situations I see my friends going through. Sometimes I write about a scene I saw in a movie. I take inspiration from all different places.
