It's very rare that you get a director that lets you be creative and bring what you feel your character should do or should be.

The most amazing thing you can ask for as an actor from a director is that you're being seen, that the choices made are informed.

As an actor, you want a director who makes you feel comfortable in a place that you can really create and try a lot of different things.

I look for the character to be something interesting, the script to have a good story and be original, and a director that I admire.

Obviously I'd love to work with any of these great directors because every time I've worked with them I've gained a tremendous amount as an actor. Each director has his own way of pushing you towards improving yourself.

If the project has good writing and is something I get excited about, then I'll do the role. And if it's for TV, I'll ask myself, 'Is it a show that I'd watch?' If it's a play or movie, I'll want to know if there's a good director attached.

I'm a fool for a good role in a creative piece where there are really such talented writers and wonderful actors.
