I love my martial arts and action movies. They give another dimension to the acting world: the emotional plus the physical.

I do find violence entertaining, but that doesn't make me a bad person. I grew up watching all these action films when I was a kid. My dad would bring back 'Rambo' and whatever, and we'd watch it together. It's not affected me in any way other than I just appreciate the entertainment value of violence on film.

As you can probably tell, I like films and directors that bring a totally unique style to filming action.

The movies I like to make are very rich and full of passion. Some people see me as an action director, but action is not the only thing in my movies. I always like to show human nature - something deep inside the heart.

I enjoy fighting scenes. I like fighting in film. I like pretending to fight in films.

I guess I probably make violent films partly because I can't express my anger in my real life very well.
