When I'm writing a record, I kind of don't listen to much music. Just because I want to be inspired solely on the emotion; just based on how it feels.

I've realized that I love all forms of music and get excited when any artist goes crazy and creates something that is an experience.

I've programmed myself musically to come up with love-feeling tracks that are romantic, sexy, but classy, all in one. And that's the challenge. Once I create that music, then the lyrical content starts to come - you know, the stories and things like that.

I think everybody can agree that you can hear a certain song and it will put you in a certain mood, and that's just the beauty of music and I am so inspired by that.

I tend to like songs that are very emotional, that strike a chord with me emotionally.

I'm inspired by music. Sometimes more than I want to be.

It's very strange when people get so focused on what a song means, what actual events inspired a song. That gets people really excited for some reason... But that's what's great about music - however people interpret it, whatever they see, is what I want to be there for them.

I feel the emotion that life conjures up and the songs I write get me closer to my feelings and realising who I am. It's a natural process.

There's just a natural human element to a great song that feels immediately satisfying. I like the song to create a mood.

But when I hear a great song, I can't help but be inspired by it, regardless of whatever genre that song falls under.
